Online counselling and psychotherapy, with space for you
When something is affecting your life, it can be hard to know where to begin. You might feel anxious, caught in unwanted thoughts, or troubled by experiences that still feel close. I’m Anya Zinkivskay. At Sanctum Counselling and Psychotherapy, I offer support to help you make sense of what you’re experiencing and explore what you would like to change.
You and your experiences matter
You may know exactly what you want to talk about. You may just know that things have become difficult and you would like some support.
Perhaps everyday tasks take more effort than they used to. You find yourself avoiding situations, repeating familiar patterns, or feeling disconnected from the people around you. Something may have happened recently, or you may have been carrying these feelings for years.
Whatever brings you here, you do not need to have everything worked out before making contact. We can begin with what feels most relevant to you.
Hello, I’m Anya
I run Sanctum Counselling and Psychotherapy, a private practice working mainly online with clients across the UK, Europe and Southeast Asia.
My work focuses on anxiety disorders, with particular expertise in obsessive compulsive disorder, often called OCD. I also have extensive experience supporting people affected by PTSD and complex trauma, including experiences of abandonment, abuse and distressing events.
I recognise that the reasons someone seeks therapy rarely fit neatly into one category. Anxiety may sit alongside grief. Past experiences may affect relationships today. Being neurodivergent may influence how you experience and respond to the world around you.
I want to understand how these experiences fit together in your life, and what support would be useful to you.

What can I help you with?
You can contact me for support with:

PTSD and complex trauma

Abandonment & Abuse

Life events

Neurodiversion

Depression and low mood

Addiction

Loss and bereavement
You do not have to choose a single issue from this list. If several feel relevant, or you are unsure how to describe what is happening, we can talk about that together.
An approach that starts with understanding you
I work as an integrative therapist. This means I draw on different therapeutic approaches, taking account of your experiences, needs and the focus of our work together.
There may be times when you want to understand something from your past. At other times, you may want to work on a difficulty affecting your daily life, explore a relationship, or learn ways to respond to distress.
My practice draws on EMDR, cognitive behavioural therapy, exposure and response prevention, dialectical behaviour therapy, person centred therapy and transactional analysis.
You do not need to know what these terms mean or decide which approach you need before contacting me. I can explain the approaches that may be relevant and talk through what working together could involve.

Working together online
Sanctum is predominantly an online practice. This allows us to meet remotely, with you joining from a private place where you feel able to talk.
Before we begin, we can discuss the practical arrangements, your circumstances and whether working online is suitable for you. If you live outside the UK, please let me know which country you will be in during sessions so I can confirm whether I can offer support there.
You can read more about getting started, session arrangements and fees on the What to Expect & Fees page.

You are welcome to make an enquiry whether or not you have a diagnosis. You might have a clear understanding of what you are experiencing, or you might be looking for help making sense of it. Tell me what you can, in your own words.
Yes. OCD is an area of particular expertise within my work with anxiety disorders. You can get in touch to discuss how OCD is affecting your life, any support you have received before and what you would like help with now.
Your first enquiry does not need to include a detailed account of what happened. You can simply say that you are looking for support with trauma or a difficult experience. We can discuss what working together might involve before going into further detail.
We meet remotely, with you joining from a private place where you can speak and hear comfortably. Before starting, we can discuss how to join sessions and any practical questions you have. We will also consider whether online work is suitable for your circumstances.
My practice supports clients in the UK, Europe and Southeast Asia. When you enquire, please tell me the country where you will be attending sessions. I can then confirm whether I can work with you in that location and discuss practical arrangements.
No. You do not need to arrive knowing which approach you want. We can discuss your experiences and what you hope to gain from therapy, then consider approaches that may be relevant. You can ask questions about how we work at any stage.
